Laura:

Insurance fraud is a multi billion dollar business and the Congress is doing nothing about it.

See the articles in the last two issues of Zalma's Insurance Fraud Letter that is available free at http://www.zalma.com. Note that the Senate says that health insurance fraud is taking $200 billion a year and yet the new health insurance reform does nothing about fraud other than putting together another committee.

Regards,

Point taken, but I'm specifically referring to data breach fraud where sensitive consumer medical and financial data is compromised -- something that surely has the potential to happen at a big broker or insurance company as an inside or outside hack job.

The subject of fraud should begin with the providers and their agents. The very issue of Business Insurance announcing Marsh won a silver in Reader;s Choice also had a report they settled for nearly a half billion in a fraud case. If we are to discuss fraud let's catch the big fish first.
